The CAB gratefully acknowledges the support of a number of donors:

  • Swale Borough Council which provides the funds for the CAB’s core activities;
  • The Legal Services Commission (LSC) which provides the funds for the Welfare Benefits, Debt and Housing Advice franchises;
  • The BIS Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF) and Citizens Advice which fund two Debt Caseworker posts;
  • The BIS and Citizens Advice which fund the Additional Hours of Advice Project;
  • Faversham Town Council for contributing to the costs of the Faversham Caseworker;
  • Swale Housing Association, who contribute to our core costs, in recognition of the service we provide many of their tenants;
  • Swale Housing Association and Swale Borough Council Housing Options Team who jointly fund a Housing Advisor;
  • The Nationwide Building Society that funds the Financial Capability Project in partnership with Citizens Advice;
  • The East Kent Primary Care Trust;
  • A number of Parish Councils in the Borough;
  • Friends of CAB in Swale;
  • The Swire Trust;
  • Kent County Coucil who have agreed to provide new funding in 2009/10 as part of Backing Kent People.

Total income in 2008/9 was £361,441, with 60% from non-local authority sources.

The Bureau represents very good value for the community. Eventually money gained for clients makes its way back into the local economy via shops and services so that many people benefit.
